Angles are
Bowling
By: Erin
When you’re
little and young thunder storms are anything but fun
We cry,
hide, wait, and pray until the booming is all done
To help us
through this stressful time
Parents make
stuff up on a dime
Like many
other parents
My mom and
dad would say
“Erin dry
your tears. Today is not scary.
It is the
angels’ bowling day!”
Confused yet
intrigued I allowed them to go on
And then the
storm was over
And my fears,
troubles, and stress seemed to be all gone
Those times
we sat and talked about angles bowling in heaven
Ended as I
grew older and hit ages like ten and eleven
But this memory
reminds me constantly that
Sometimes to
get through a storm in life all you need to do is chat
This reminds
me daily that it is okay
That
sometimes we need to distract ourselves to get through the day
Finally this
reminds me when I’m drowning in the daily hours
I can think
about the fairies in the flowers
Or even what
I would do if I had super powers
For relief until
the thunder stops rumbling so loud
So I can
then return to my daily work, life, routine tasks and simply be part of the
crowd
